Barbara “Lindsey” Minear, 70, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Friday, September 9, 2022. She was born December 22, 1951 to J.W. and Barbara “Bobbie” (Shepard) Fry in Independence, MO.
Lindsey graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1970. She attended college at the University of Missouri in Kansas City (UMKC) where she earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree in education. Lindsey furthered her education at Webster University and received her Master’s Degree in education. On August 18, 1973 she was united in marriage to Wayne Minear in Blue Springs, MO. Lindsey was an elementary teacher for the Blue Springs School District for 25 years before her retirement in 2000. She was a people person who enjoyed her flowers, plants, the Hallmark Channel, and shopping. Above all Lindsey cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Wayne Minear of Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Emily Bernhardy and husband Brice and their children, Landon and Shelby of Blue Springs, MO, Barbara “Kate” Minear of Blue Springs, MO; sister, Andrea Martin and husband Bryan of Blue Springs, MO; brother, Brian Fry and wife Nancy of Blue Springs, MO; brother-in-law, Clint Hall and wife, Linda of Lenexa, KS. Lindsey was preceded in death by parents, J.W. and Bobbie Fry;sister, Valarie Hall.
Her family will receive family and friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 301 S.W. Woods Chapel Rd, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the church. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christmas Basket donation through the Elk’s Lodge #2509 in Blue Springs. What a sweet and caring person Lindsey was. She always had a smile for everyone. Her family, friends and James Walker school family will miss her.

Knowing Lindsey was a blessing and a joy from the first time we met. Louann Holmes came to my classroom to find out my birthday, when I became part of the JWE family. Lindsey was so excited to hear we were “twins”. Our classroom doors were together ❤️ All the fun times we shared. We convinced our students we truly were twins. Lindsey will be truly missed by all! wayne, emily, kate and family, andy and i were so sad and sorry to hear the news about lindsey. she truly was one the kindest and sweetest ladies we ever had the pleasure of knowing…..she was the definition of a true lady and ALWAYS had a smile on her face. she will be missed by many. keep her memories alive and know you all will meet again. you all have a very special angel watching over you now.
