Lillian Marie Smith, 89, of Kansas City, MO completed her earthly journey on April 25, 2022. She was born on May 12, 1932 in Chapman, AL to Bill and Bertha (King) Tyler. Lillian was educated in Chapman and spent the majority of her working career as a CNA in various hospital settings.
A woman of strong faith, she was very devoted to both her Lord and her family. Lillian was a long-time member of the Israel Methodist Community Church, and was involved in several church circles including, church treasurer and church choir as well as the manager of the Israel Methodist Community Federal Credit Union.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mr. Alfred Smith; and three siblings: Willie Bradley, James Tyler and Margaret Cooke. Survivors include her nieces and nephew: Anne Lewis, Gwendolyn Cooke, and Herman Cooke and wife Beverly Cooke and many great nieces and nephews. Lillian was like a mother, sister and aunt in all aspects of her families lives. The Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. A Funeral Service celebrating Lillian’s life will commence at 2:30 p.m. Graveside Services and Burial will follow at the East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO.
