Lillian Frances Shaver, 91, of Northmoor, MO passed away June 20, 2014. She was born January 17, 1923 in Wyandotte County, KS to John H. and Pauline (Billington) Callahan, Sr. Lillian graduated from Washington High School, Kansas City KS in 1941.
She was employed by Intercollegiate Press in Kansas City for over 25 years. Prior to that she was one of the first two women hired during WWII at the North American Bomber Plant, where she produced the first sketches of the B-25 Bomber. Lillian was an accomplished artist and her paintings are seen today in several churches in the Kansas City area. Her passion for art was evident since she was eight years old. She had a great faith in her Lord and loved her family very much.
She married Harlan R. Shaver, Sr. on December 23, 1943. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Survivors include 4 sons, Larry, Jerry, Harlan, Jr. and Michael; a brother, Leslie Callahan; 14 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Burial will follow at East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO. Grandma lived a life full of incredible experiences. She was an amazing artist whose work will go on and be remembered for generations to come. As a woman of her era she was able to accomplish many outstanding accomplishments. She was very beautiful and full of life.
