Larry Raymond Shaver, 77, of Northmoor, MO passed away peacefully on Friday, March 3, 2023 at home with his loving family by his side. Larry was born March 29, 1945 to Harlan Raymond and Lillian Frances (Callahan) Shaver in Kansas City, MO.
Larry was a United States Marine veteran and served during the Vietnam Era. He was wounded during combat and received his purple heart.
Anyone who knew Larry, knew he loved playing his trumpet. He enjoyed playing his horn for family, friends and for his canine buddy, and best friend Rascal.
Larry was a man with a strong Christian faith and giving heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lisa Shaver; two daughters: Michelle Spader (Jon); Rachael Riddle (Brian); ten grandchildren; two brothers: Harlan Shaver and Michael Shaver; nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother, Jerry Shaver.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Rockcreek Fellowship Church 2608 Koch, St. Avondale, MO 64117. The Funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at East Slope Cemetery in Riverside, MO. In lieu of flowers the family Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help defray burial expenses. I am so sorry to learn of Larry passing! I would run into Larry in Riverside and he was always a joy to met up with. I always felt better and walked away with good feelings. The day Larry passed i was in surgery at Shawnee Mission Hospital. My condolences to your entire family!
