She was united in marriage with Robert J. Kopp on October 15, 1995.
Karen worked as a chairside dental assistant for 25 years, later becoming a nurse technician at the North Kansas City Hospital where she was known in the Cardiac ICU as
“Kardiac Karen.” She was also an active participant and spokesperson for the Kansas City affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Karen was an avid traveler. She had a passion for music and was a member of the St. Therese Choir. Most of all, she enjoyed spending her time with her loving family, friends, and pets.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Robert Kopp, of the home; two children, Christopher S. Leeman of Northvale, NJ and Erin E. Leeman of Ramsey, NJ; and one sister, Helen R. Kaplonski of Newtown Square, PA.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Hwy 9, Kansas City, MO with Rev. Joe Cisetti as celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
