A celebration of Johnny’s life will be held Friday, December 1, 2023, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service celebrating his life beginning at 3:00 p.m.
Johnny was truly one of a kind. He was reunited with his father in Heaven on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born July 13, 1996 in Pomona, CA to Juan and Martha (Garcia) Vega. Mr. Vega passed away in June of 2022.
He graduated high school in Fontana, CA and had a great career as a tour guide for Barley Bus Tours. He had recently moved to the Kansas City area.
He had a love for sports, and his favorite teams were the LA Dodgers, Miami Heat and LA Rams. Johnny recently became an ordained minister and was proud to perform the wedding for his best friends, Kat and Erik Garcia. Johnny had a love for people and a zest for life. He will be dearly missed.
Survived by his mother, Martha Garcia Munguia; and his beloved sister, Emily Stacy Vega and husband, David Mendoza.

Johnny thank you for making me laugh and making time fly by during those 12hr shifts! For making everyone feel welcomed even when you didn’t know them. You were seriously someone who could turn anyone’s day around. You were such a light and even on your worst days you would still manage to make everyone else feel better. To Johnny’s family I send you so many hugs and prayers your way. Know that his disney family really cared about him. May he rest in paradise.
Johnny left such an impression on me in the months I knew him. Kind, fun, thoughtful example of a man who worked hard and always had others first on his mind. I’ll miss you and treasure the budding friendship we had.
I have been so blessed by knowing Johnny. My heart breaks for Martha and Emily. Johnny I love you man!
We are heartbroken over this news. We have so many memories of Johnny at church and in Sunday school over the years. From the time he was very young his kindness and loving heart were evident to us in his relationship with his family and with church members of all ages. See you in heaven, dear young man and brother in Christ.
