John Michael Swarm, 57, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 23rd, 2017. He was born February 2, 1960 in Dunellen, NJ to John and Violet (Wolfarth) Swarm.
John married the love of his life, Christine Sitnik, on June 28th, 2014 in Castleton, VT. He worked as a sales contractor for Delta Innovative Services in Kansas City, MO. John enjoyed fishing, spending time in the outdoors and especially cherished the time he spent with his family. To adequately describe a man like John in a few sentences is impossible. It’s difficult to convey the full measure of his integrity, his giving character, wonderful sense of humor or outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and never hesitated to help each person he met. Since the age of 15 he decided to do at least one act of kindness a day and he often surpassed that goal. He would always say “I’m just a guy” but anyone who met him knows he was so much more. John was a cherished husband, beloved father, devoted son, loving brother, doting son-in-law and trusted friend. To say he will be missed falls woefully short of describing the light that has been extinguished with his passing. His legacy of love and kindness continues in every heart he touched and every life he entered. We find comfort in knowing John has been united in heaven with his savior, in whom his faith never faltered. We look forward to the day we will join him there and be with him again forever.
Survivors include wife, Christine Swarm; daughters, Mellissa Swarm, Christie Swarm, Rachel Cobler; mother-in-law Gertrude Sitnik; father, John “Jack” Swarm; brother, Scott Swarm; sister, Linda Peltier; grandchildren, Xander and Zo Cobler; and countless friends across the country.
A celebration of John’s extraordinary life will be held at his home in Blue Springs, MO on Saturday November 18th, 2017 from 12pm to 4pm. Please bring your favorite photo of John and memories to share. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the John Swarm Memorial Scholarship Fund. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of John and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
