John “Jack” Edwin Eastland, 89, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away October 11, 2018. He was born October 13, 1928 in Stanley, KS to Willis and Mildred (Cochran) Eastland.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and had a 42 year career at TWA, where he worked as a mechanic. His love for airplanes was evident from a very young age.
He married Anita Johnson on April 19, 1952 at St. Joesph’s Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS. They were blessed with a beautiful 66 years together. Additional survivors include their children: Jeffery Eastland, Cynthia Grossman and Marsha Eastland; two grandchildren: Jennifer Eastland and Trenton Eastland; two great grandchildren: Devin Krays and Parker Sterling; and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Eastland.
Visitation will be 10-11:00 a.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Therese Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Cisetti presiding. Committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Therese Catholic Church or Salvation Army and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
