A Memorial Service celebrating John’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., August 26, 2023 at Meyers Northland Chapel 401 Main Street Parkville, MO. The Visitation will be held one prior starting at 1:oo p.m. Placement of the urn will immediately follow the Memorial Service. Flowers are welcomed. John P. Brooke, 83, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 18, 2023 with his loving family and dear friends by his side. John was born November 9, 1939 to Lawrence and Josephine (Phillips) Brooke in Kansas City, MO.
John was a life-long resident of Roeland Park, KS and the Kansas City area.
John joined John Sidoti as a business partner. Together they ran a successful local restaurant/bar, Cabaret for 20 years. As business partners they sponsored local softball teams and KC Pet Project. They also raised over $1,000,000.00 for the following charities: KC Health Clinic, and Foundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).
John enjoyed cooking fantastic meals for family and friends. He also was an avid sports fan! He enjoyed watching and playing sports’ especially softball and golf. John will be remembered as a loving brother, uncle and friend to many and for his compassion for all pets especially cats and dogs.
John is survived by a brother Larry Brooke and Frank Cappuccio; his nieces and nephews: Kathy Warrell; Ricky Parrett; David (Tammy) Parrett; Kelly Warrell; Kim Miller; Betsy (Alan) Dement; Leslie (Mark) Buell, Laura (David) Camp and Larry Uleman; and numerous great nieces and nephews; and dear friend David Miller.
John was preceded in death by both parents Josephine and Carl Warrell; his siblings Carl (Pat) Warrell; Nancy (Richard) Parrett; Kay (Gene) Huntly; Janet Cappuccio; and nephew Gary Huntley, and Tracy Warrell; good friend and business partner, John Sidoti.
I remember John very well when he had the cabaret bar I used to work down there as the cleaning person who went in and cleaned the bar after everybody left he was always pleasant and polite to me and such a nice man and would take time to talk to me I’m kind of joke a little sad to hear that he’s gone but I’m sure he’s at peace now rest in peace John. 🙏🙏
