Jim Hogan, 82, a resident of Kansas City North and member of Christ Lutheran Church was called home suddenly on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. He was born December 28, 1933 in Norborne, MO to Roy and Elmina (Brenneman) Hogan.
Jim graduated from Norborne High School, earned his BS in electrical engineering from the University of Missouri and earned his MBA from Purdue University. He spent the majority of his career as a self employed computer programmer. Jim was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Platte Woods, MO and was very devoted to his God and his family.
He married Ann Carolyn Heil on August 10, 1957 in Norborne, MO. Jim and Carolyn came one day short of celebrating 59 years of marriage. In addition to Carolyn, survivors include his children, Gretchen Hanson (Tom) of Weston, MO, Chris Hogan of Santa Rosa, CA and Elizabeth Johnson (Wayne) of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Hayden and Emma Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Mark Hogan, two brothers and four sisters.
A funeral service celebrating Jim’s life will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 9:00-10:00 a.m., prior to the service. Graveside services and burial will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Norborne. Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church or the cemetery and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
