Iva M. Shumake, 94, a resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at The Gardens at Barry Road. Iva was born April 20, 1923 to Alfred Asberry and Maidie Florence (George) Eddings in Shannon County, MO.
She lived a full and productive life with no regrets about the past. Iva cared and loved everyone. She was always busy doing something. Iva could never sit still except when a ball game was on; then no-one dare stand or get in front of TV. She was a very special lady. She will be missed by many family members and friends.
Iva came from a large family of one brother and 11 sisters. She was preceded in death by both parents; her brother; 9 sisters; two husbands: Eugene E. Trent and Orville Shumake; a close companion, Bob Rice and a sister-in-law, Margaret Eddings. Survived by two sisters: Ruby Walters (Ralph) and Pearl Larson (Al).
Private Services will be held for Iva. Meyers Northland Chapel has been entrusted with final arrangements. Cremation. Memories of Iva and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
