Isla Rae Dahlen, 91, a Northland resident of Kansas City, (formerly of Milwaukee, WI) passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Isla Rae was born September 18, 1926 to Clay and Grace (Roe) Quinn in Amherst, WI.
Isla Rae loved to entertain family and friends at her home as she was an excellent cook. She was also very active in her church Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, WI.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Dahlen, both parents, two sisters: Bernice Siegel and Joan Bestul. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sharon Baer and her husband William of Parkville, MO; three grandchildren: David Baer (Beverly); Dayna Word (Matt) and Kevin Baer; six great-grandchildren: William, Oliver, Lillian, Lawler, Wyatt and Isla; a brother, Royal Quinn (Mary) of IN.
Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 in the Chapel of the Chimes in Wisconsin Memorial Park, Brookfield, WI. A Memorial service celebrating Isla Rae’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Ronald McDonald House of Indiana, 435 Limestone St. Indianapolis, IN 46202 or Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn St. Dallas, TX 75219.
