Homer Lee Shay, 84, a resident of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2022 at his home in Blue Springs, Missouri. He was born November 23, 1938 to Anthony and Mildred Shay in Pilot Grove, Missouri.
Homer was united in marriage to Linda Luanne (Kruse) Shay on July 10, 1970 in Grandview, Missouri. For over 30 Years he owned Shay’s House Cleaning Service. He ended his career working for the Blue Springs School District. Homer was a member of Abundant Life Church in Blue Springs. He enjoyed tending to his farm by mowing, fixing fence and caring for his livestock. Homer was a Sunday School Church Bus Pastor for many years. He had a heart for sharing his love for Jesus with everyone, especially children.
Homer is survived by his loving wife, Linda Shay of Blue Springs, Missouri; children, Homer Lee Shay II of Blue Springs, Missouri; Tanya Alison of Blue Springs Missouri; Melissa Mae Shay of Blue Springs, Missouri and Tamarah Clark of Blue Springs, Missouri. Ronnie Shay of Colorado; Laura Chaves of Louisiana; Lisa Shay of Louisiana and Kim Bachman of California. His sister, Dorthy Kindred of Kansas City, Kansas and 22 grandchildren also survive. Homer is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Shay.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Meyers Funeral Home in Blue Springs where Justin Oldham will be the Funeral Director assisting the family. I’m not good at condolences. I will just say I have lost a few loved ones, but not my father. I do not look forward to that day. I’m truly sorry to hear about your pops.
