Homer Earl Hon, Jr., 86, of Parkville, MO recently residing in Overland, MO passed away November 3, 2017 at the John Cochran VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO. Homer was born January 11, 1931 in Parkville to Homer E. and Margaret (Corbin) Hon, Sr.
Homer graduated from Parkville High School in 1949 and attended Park University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He retired from TWA in Kansas City, MO, where he had worked for 35 years. Homer was active in the Parkville community and served as an alderman for the city of Parkville. Homer was a long-time member of the Parkville Presbyterian Church and served both as Elder and Deacon. He was very devoted to both his Lord and his family.
He married Elaine Sims on September 17, 1955 in Riverside, CA. In addition to Elaine, survivors include their two children, Pat Clark of St. Louis, MO and Bob Hon and wife, Mattie of Columbia, MO; two brothers, Buddy Hon of Gower, MO and James B. Hon of Gladstone, MO; four grandchildren, Carissa Bratschun, Robert M. Hon, Dylan Clark and Cori Clark.
A funeral service celebrating Homer’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Parkville Presbyterian Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. A committal service and military honors will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkville Presbyterian Church Building Fund and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
