Helen Claire Taylor, 95, from Parkville, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022. She was born on February 3, 1927, in Parkville, MO, to parents William Barry and Georgia Etta (McIntyre) Martin. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She had a love for children and teaching them about God’s love.
Helen was a member of the First Century Church. She was a loving, kind, hard worker and often helped others in need. She loved spending time with her family, who affectionately called her “Grammy.” She also enjoyed spending time with her market family as she helped run a stall at the Parkville Farmers Market.
Helen is survived by her daughters: Carolyn Nalley (Mike Fischer) and Joyce (Mike) McFarland, and daughter-in-law Donna Taylor; Grandchildren: David (Marion) Taylor, Terra (Tim) Martin, Michelle (Lee) Mitchell, Bobbi (Jeff) Ray and LeeAnn (Austen) Gooch; Great-grandchildren: Anthony (Larisa), Timothy, Christopher, Jillian, Hunter, Gabe, Logan, Jakob, Grey, Jennifer, Kyle, and Hailey; and great-great-grandchildren: Zoey, Luke, David, Gunner, Sawyer, Sunni, and Jaxson. She is also survived by her sister, Etta Dyche, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Gene Taylor; her parents, William Barry and Georgia Etta (McIntyre) Martin; brothers, Samuel Martin and William “Happy” Martin; Son, Garry Taylor; Son-in-law, Billy Nalley; and Grandson, Dennis Nalley.
Funeral services have been set for Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral service celebrating Helen’s life commencing at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services and burial will follow at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to First Century Church and may be left in the care of the Meyers Northland Chapel, 401 Main St., Parkville, MO 64152.
