Harold Luke Perdue 97 of Oak Grove passed away peacefully May 1, 2022, and is now reunited with his Wife of 71 years in Heaven for all eternity. Maurine (Perdue) passed away 5 weeks earlier. His last words to his wonderful bride were “I will be right behind you” and he was a man of his word. The love he had for her was endearing.
Harold was born in Greenwood Missouri to Luke and Maude (Breeze) on July 22, 1924. After graduating, he like most men his age went into the military, entering the Coast Guard. After the military, Harold moved to Kansas City where met the love of his life, Maurine. They were married on April 26th, 1950 and started building their future together. Shortly after, he started his own painting and interior design business.
As a young man, Harold had many hobbies. You could often find him doing woodwork in a shop in his garage, walking around his gardens or sitting in his chair reading a good book. He was always available to lend a hand and loved helping his family with any house project. The family always rewarded his hard work with dessert. Poppy loved his sweets.
Harold “Poppy” is survived by his children Hal Perdue of Oak Grove, MO and Matt (Johnna) Perdue of Blue Springs MO; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lorene Griesel, brother James Perdue and daughter In-law Mary Lou Perdue.
There will be a joint service for Harold and Maurine Perdue on Sunday, May 29th, 2022, Timothy Lutheran Church, 425 NW R.D. Mize Road Blue Springs MO 64015. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 with a service immediately following.
