Harold F. Kalicak, a resident of Blue Springs, MO, was born August 6, 1922 in Wilsonville, IL, and died Thursday, June 7, 2012 after complications due to a brain injury suffered in Oct 2011.
Harold was raised in St. Louis, MO, the second of three children, and grew up working in the family construction business.
As a young man out of high school, he joined the Coast Guard during World War II. In the early 1970’s he formed his own construction company, H. Kalicak Construction, Conducting business in Missouri and later as H. Kalicak International in several countries in Africa during the 1970’s and 1980’s.
Harold was an avid Cardinal baseball fan and a proud supporter of Ol’ Mizzou. In his retirement years he enjoyed his life in the company of friends and surviving wife, Lena LaRose Kalicak.
Among the survivors are his wife, Lena of the home, his sister and brother-in-law Leona (Kalicak) and Joe Leonardelli, and younger sister Rose Kalicak, his son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Suzy, and younger son, Steve, four granddaughters and on step-grandson.
Harold was truly One-of –a-Kind, man’s man, and loving and caring husband and human being who will be missed by many.
