Hal Richard Sinclair, 87, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at the McCrite Plaza at Briarcliff on June 1, 2022. He was born July 19, 1934 in Santa Monica, CA to Frank and Helen (Seefken) Sinclair. Siblings are Fred Sinclair (deceased) and Terry Sinclair who resides in Overland Park KS.
Frank and Helen moved to Chanute, Kansas in 1944 where Hal attended grade school in a one room, country school (Neosho Valley School), and Chanute High School and Junior College, before proceeding to Kansas State University. Hal was a graduate of Kansas State with a degree in Veterinary Medicine, was a DVM, and practiced his arts for over 60 years. Following graduation from K-State, he practiced in Altus, Oklahoma. He and his family moved to Kingman, Kansas where Hal purchased a large/small animal clinic. He owned the clinic for approximately 10 years before moving to Des Moines, Iowa, and beginning his advisory profession with Diamond Laboratories. Subsequently, he proceeded to work for several Veterinary Health suppliers, traveling to multiple foreign locations providing his expertise in animal health until his retirement.
His hobbies included Quail and Pheasant hunting, Walleye fishing, and traveling with Nina. Anyone who accompanied Hal on a trip for Canadian Walleyes experienced his passion for fishing.
Hal was devoted to both his Lord and his family. He was a long-time member of Christ Lutheran Church in Platte Woods, MO. He married Nina (Smith) on April 27, 1985 in Des Moines, IA. In addition to Nina, survivors include Steven and Cindy Sinclair of Woolstock IA, David and Julie Sinclair of Lee’s Summit MO, and Lori Roberts of Johnston IA. Grandchildren Alicia, Statia, Michael, Nick, and Benton.
In lieu of flowers Hal requests memorial contributions be made to Christ Lutheran Church.
