The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Therese Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Cisetti presiding. The Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the Mass with a Committal Service and urn placement at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle National Cemetery in North Hanover Township, NJ.
He was born August 16, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY to Harold and Mildred (Keenan) Jeffrey. George graduated from St. Augustine High School in Brooklyn, attended a semester at Harvard University and then served in the United States Army. He had a long and rewarding career at Manufacturers Hanover Trust on Wall Street in Manhattan, NY, where he was employed for 28 years in the International Banking division. George was involved in several things, including Past member of Middletown First Aid Square in New Jersey, St. Theresa Knights of Columbus in New Jersey and Past member of Western Missouri Right to Life.
George married Marjorie Laughlin on March 19, 1966 at St. Theresa of Avila Parish in Brooklyn. They recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. In addition to Marjorie, survivors include their children: John Robert Jeffrey and wife, Shellie of Parkville and Patrick Joseph Jeffrey and wife, Judith of Point Pleasant, NJ; his twin brother, Steven Jeffrey of Florida: his sister, Mary Schaefer of Florida; seven grandchildren: Charlie, James, Heather, Patrick, Amanda, Chance and Lauryn; and four great grandchildren: Bentley, Ellianna, Jaelen and William; and daughter in law, Ryann Jeffrey of Hazlet, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Jeffrey; and two brothers, Michael and Harold Jeffrey, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Church of St. Catherine Labouere in Middletown, NJ and may be left in care of the funeral home.
