Gaye Lynn Grogg Amaro, 54, of Gladstone, MO passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at the NorthCare Hospice House. She was born October 10, 1959 in Kansas City, MO to Samuel J. and Marguerite G. (Stoehr) Grogg. Gaye graduated from Oak Park High School and lived her entire life in the Kansas City area.
She spent the majority of her working years for Events Direct, based out of St. Louis. Gaye was of the Catholic faith and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed entertaining.
Survivors include her son, John Ross Amaro of Kansas City, MO; her daughter, Breiana A. Amaro of St. Louis, MO; granddaughter, Aubrey Petty of St. Louis, MO; a sister, Gensa Baker and husband Bruce of Florida; a brother, Scott Grogg and wife, Elizabeth of Gladstone, MO; and former husband, John C. Amaro of Kansas City, MO. Her parents preceded her in death.
A prayer service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO with Rev. Timothy Armbruster, C.PP.S. officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for a memorial fund that will be established to assist with her granddaughters education.
