Gary Ervin Hennrich, 79, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He was born January 13, 1944 to Ervin and Marie (Thompson) Hennrich in Independence, MO.
Gary served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was united in marriage to Darlene Mary Veiga on May 8, 1963 in Oakland, CA. Gary spent his working career as a car inspector for the railroad working for Kansas City Southern Lines and Southern Pacific. He was a parishioner of St. John LaLande Catholic Church in Blue Springs. Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially the annual family vacations and spending time at Truman Lake.
Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Darlene Hennrich of Blue Springs, MO; son, John Hennrich of Roeland Park, KS; daughter, Julie Fockler and husband Lance of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter, Sherrie Platz of Lee’s Summit, MO; daughter-in-law, Maria Marble of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Auston Hennrich, Jacob Hennrich, Gary Hennrich, Malena Peel, Darlene Hennrich, Jonathan Platz, Kristina Platz, Rhyleigh Platz, Myriah Terry, Tyler Terry; 14 great-grandchildren,; sisters, Theresa Wright and husband Terry of Holden, MO, Ann Coe of Blue Springs, MO. Gary is preceded in death by his son, Gary Dean Hennrich; parents, Ervin and Marie Hennrich; siblings, Billie Bishop, Mary Mullins, Patty Opoka, Becky Plother, Donna Hennrich.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church, 805 N.W. RD Mize Rd, Blue Springs, MO. The family will receive friends and family from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the start of mass. Burial will follow at the Blue Springs Cemetery.
