Gabriele Philipp, 67, of Dearborn, Missouri (formally of Riverside, Missouri) passed away Friday, January 6, 2023. Gabriele was born December 15, 1955, to Georg and Ursula (Mueller) Moerscher in Trier, Germany.
Gabriele worked as a Senior Underwriter for over thirty years at Forrest T. Jones Insurance Company.
Gabriele had a passion for gardening and a love for all walks of life; all creatures great and small with a special fondness for cats, dogs, and birds. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and had recently begun teaching them to speak German.
Every couple of years Gabriele visited Birkenfeld, Germany where she would spend time with family and friends. Her sister Andrea who still resides in Germany, relishes the memory of Gabriele teaching her how to swim, and that they always stuck together no matter what. The family enjoyed playing their favorite card game Spades. You could find them at one of Gabriele’s favorite spots in Germany relaxing and enjoying her favorite libations at The Gin Bar. Her favorite pub in Germany was Charlie’s Place.
However, her favorite time was spent with her son when she was his Troop Leader from the time Michael was a cub scout all the way to the highest level being an Eagle Scout. She was very proud of Michael earning the title of Eagle Scout and receiving the highest honor by being inducted in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.
Gabriele was preceded in death by her soulmate and friend Terry Sechser and both parents. She is survived by her only son Michael Philipp and his wife Misty; three grandchildren Keanna, Jase, and Mila; a sister Andrea “Andy” Moerscher and her husband Juergen Schug; a sister-in-law and longtime friend Cathy Philipp; and extended family Sharon, Thomas, and John.
A private Celebration of Life for Gabriele and Terry will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter “F.O.P.A.S” Memories of Gabriele and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.

I fill a emptiness from her existence as she was down to earth and we had the best conversations over the years. No doubt you were the light of her life from when i met her when you were young as six years old. She loved her granddaughter you brought her and her life was complete. She will be deeply missed from Jim and I as we always enjoyed here company and her down to earth nature. She was an animal lover like us and that was another bond we shared besides you and her granddaughter. No words can help the pain. God is with her and your father so they can be together once again.
