Frederick C. “Fred” Brink, 91, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO and longtime member of St. Therese Parish, passed away February 14, 2015. He was born on August 25, 1923 in Kansas City, MO to Frederick H. And Mabel E. (Williams) Brink.
Fred graduated from Rockhurst High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served during WWII. During the war he was an ambulance driver with the 62nd General Hospital, based out of Eaubonne, France.
Fred was very devoted to St. Therese Parish and served many years as a sacristan. He spent the majority of his working years as a salesman of industrial laundry products.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margueritte A. “Margie” (Liebst) Brink. Survivors include his 12 children, Vince (Henri) Brink, John Brink, Phil Brink, Bern (Melanie) Brink, Charlene (Michael) Gill, Dan (Jeniene) Brink, Margie (Bob) Carder, Anita Coleman, Marty (Lisa) Brink, Grace (Jeff) Homan, Mike Brink and Steve (Deana) Brink; 24 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW 9 Highway, with Rev. Joseph Cisetti as principal celebrant. A committal service will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with military honors. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at St. Therese, where the family will receive friends following until 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry at St. Therese and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
