Fredric Forest Langlotz, 74, a resident of Oak Grove, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, MO. He was born March 21, 1948 to Fred and Thalia (Lauer) in Kansas City, MO.
Fredric went by Forest to family and friends. He graduated from De La Salle High School in 1966. He started his professional career at Hallmark Cards in 1967 in the small machines department. He was drafted by the United States Army and proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged. Forest returned from service and resumed his employment at Hallmark. From the building engineering department, he retired after 40 years in 2007. He was united in marriage to Susan Randolph on April 28, 1984 in Independence, MO. Forest enjoyed being at the lake, fishing, golfing, drinking whiskey, riding 4-wheelers, water skiing, traveling, and working on his many projects. He was known for being the life of the party, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a member of the American Legion Post #499 and the Elk’s Lodge #2509 both located in Blue Springs.
Survived by his wife, Susan Langlotz of Oak Grove, MO; children, Heather Heaster and husband William of Kansas City, MO, Ashley Ziegler and husband Ryan of Oak Grove, MO, Amber Langlotz of Oak Grove, MO; grandchildren, Faith, Robert “Bobby”, and Fredric “Freddy”. Forest was preceded in death by his parents; beloved uncle Leonard Lauer; several special relatives and many cherished friends.
Forest will be cremated per his wishes. The family will gather to celebrate Forest’s life from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Blue Springs Elks Lodge #2509, 100 N.E. Brizendine Rd, Blue Springs, MO. Snacks and cash bar will be available. Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs has been entrusted with arrangements. Sorry for your loss. Forest had such a contagious smile and was fun to be around. My golf partner and I enjoyed playing golf with he and Larry in the Hallmark golf league for a number of years. Wish he was still around.
