Ernest Earl Martin, 73, a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully at 8:52 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2020 at NorthCare Hospice House. Ernest was born May 5, 1947 to Emmett and Pearl (Boyd) Martin.
He spent the majority of his working career as a dishwasher for Sam’s Town and Harrah’s Casino in North Kansas City, MO. His determination of being a hard worker never went unnoticed from his family or co-workers. At the end of a hard day’s work Ernest would sit and enjoy drinking a nice cold beer.
Ernest liked being outdoors; fishing or hunting with his younger brother Stephen. He was captivated with wrist-watches; and collected over a 100 watches. His cheerful personality and warm smile will be missed by all.
He is survived by his younger brother, Stephen Martin and his favorite niece, Stephanie Shinneman (Jon) and numerous friends.
Ernest will be laid to rest next to his parents Monday, May 11, 2020 at East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO. Private burial. Memories of Ernest and condolences to his family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
So very, very sorry for your loss! Ernest was a great guy. My daughter lived right next to him at the apartment complex. He was always so caring and kind to her. Because of the pandemic, I was not aware that he had passed away until recently. Please know that you continued to be in our thoughts and prayers.
