Eric Austin Gunn, 25, a resident of Blue Springs, MO unexpectedly passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023 in Blue Springs, MO. He was born August 15, 1997 in
Independence, MO, to Jeffery Gunn and Micaela Rivera Hernandez.
Eric graduated Blue Springs High School in 2016. He dedicated himself as a collision technician for Caliber Collision. Eric was a member of the Elks Lodge #2505 in Blue Springs, MO. Cars, riding motorcycles, fishing, camping, shooting guns, listening to
music, good food, and sports brought joy to his life. Eric cherished time with his family
and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Micaela Rivera and husband Rick Wheeker of Grain Valley, MO; father, Jeffery Gunn of Blue Springs, MO; siblings, Christopher Gunn of Grain Valley, MO, David Gunn of Kansas City, MO, Vanessa Gunn of Blue Springs, MO; maternal grandmother, Refugio Hernandez of Grain Valley, MO; paternal grandfather, Bill Gunn of Harrisonville, MO; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and
friends.
His family will receive family and friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St, Blue Springs, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 RT-7 Blue Springs, MO. So sorry for your families loss. There are no words! Prayers being sent to you all. I will always remember Eric as Jacob’s quiet friend. He was such a sweet boy and turned into an amazing, charismatic young man with a smile that lite up a room. He will be missed by all.
This is a hard loss to accept. Eric was a great friend to Brittany for many years as well as our whole family. He was like a son to me. He was definitely loved and will be greatly missed.
