Verna “Emagene” Allison, 85, Independence, MO formerly of Blue Springs, MO passed away April 20, 2018. She was born September 2, 1932 in Tuckerman, AR to Madison and Annie (McNeely) Duke.
Emagene resided in Blue Springs for 30 years, where she owned and operated a daycare business for over 20 years. Her love for children was something special. She was known to many of those children as “grandma.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sandra Martin; two sisters, Thelma and Christine; and a daughter-in-law, Kitty. Survivors include her children; Dannie Allison (Sharon), David Allison (Lori), Brenda Bond (Richard), Donald Allison and Benjamin Allison (Robyn); a sister, Marvelene Norden; 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Emagene’s life will be held 12 NOON p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Visitation 11am-12:00 p.m., prior to the service. Memories of Emagene and condolences may be shared at www.meyersfuneralchapel.com.

This special lady was like a Mother to our children. She will always be remembered for sharing her home with us, not only providing many years of love and caring for our kids, but also working long days with very little vacation or time off for herself. Grandma Gene, you will be dearly missed. May her family know they all are in our thoughts and prayers.
