Elizabeth Rose Rakers, 78, of Kansas City, MO passed away on October 10, 2022 at Wexford Place with her devoted sister, Joan at her side. Elizabeth was born June 25, 1944 in Ramsey, IL. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in education.
She worked for Braniff Airlines for 15 years. Following that, she worked for various travel agencies, retiring in 2009. She loved to travel and went all over the world with her sister, Joan.
Elizabeth was a long-time member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Parkville, MO, where she was actively involved with the food pantry of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, several prayer groups, and Meals on Wheels.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Mary Kathryn Seymour and Mildred Armato, and brothers-in-law, Paul Seymour and Frank Armato. She is survived by her sister, Joan Rakers, and brother George Rakers, and sister-in-law, Cathy Rakers. She also leaves behind 14 nieces and nephews, 21 grandnieces and nephews, and 8 great-grandnieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
A Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Therese Catholic Church 7207 N.W. Highway 9, Kansas City, MO. Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Elizabeth’s life will commence at 10:00 a.m. Coffee and donuts will follow.
