He was born September 26, 1973, the son of Robert E. and Sondra Sue (Benefiel) Leach. His parents and sister in law Sarah Leach preceded him in death. Ehret graduated from Park Hill High School and lived his entire life in this area.
Ehret not only worked as a server in the restaurant industry, but he also had a passion for cooking himself. Prior to his mother’s death in 2019, he enjoyed cooking for her and was always experimenting with new recipes and food presentation. Ehret was an avid Chiefs fan and enjoyed collecting memorabilia, watching games, talking smack, golfing and spending time with friends, family and his beloved dogs.
Survivors include his brother, Robert Leach; nieces, Sophie and Mia and nephew, Jack. He was a friend and mentor to many. He will be dearly missed by his Nick & Jake’s family, and the numerous patrons that he waited on over the last 18 years.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Ehret’s life at the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville on Monday, August 22, 2022. Visitation will begin at 5:00p.m., with a Sharing of Memories time starting at 6:00 p.m. A further celebration of Ehret’s life will commence directly after at the American Legion Post in Parkville. In lieu of flowers, the next time you enjoy a nice dinner out, think of Ehret and tip your server a little extra!

Ehret was my first friend when I moved to KC. He was a smart and creative individual with a huge heart who always wanted to make his friends and family happy. He was very clever with words, and we spent countless hours laughing to tears. I’ll miss you Ehret, and you’ll always be in my heart!
I’ve known Ehret since his time at LoneStar Steakhouse. He always treated me with respect even though I was a lowly, 16 year old bus boy. I found him again while I was in college, working at Nick and Jake’s, he treated me as if we were best friends. His personality was superb, his attitude towards life was spectacular. I will miss this man.
Ehret,
May you rest in peace and we will forever miss you, and your smiling face and awesome personality.
Ehret,
You were always so kind to my kids and I when we would see you outside. Prayers to your friends and family you were truly THE best neighbor to us!
Ehret I remember meeting you when I was 14 and ever since you have been warming others hearts with your smile and laughter!!! I love and have no doubt that you’ll be missed by many!!! I now have another angel to watch over me!!!! ❤️😇
Very friendly, genuine guy. He often served me and many of the past Bonefish crew that come to N&Js. Much love to his family.
We have enjoyed knowing you and always looked forward to seeing you when we were at Nick and Jakes’. You knew what we’d order before even asking us on many occasions. We will miss you very much.
I seldom saw Ernest as I was married to a career Air Force pilot and constantly traveling . But will always remember him as the cutest baby I ever saw. Crazy as that sounds, he really was precious and had the sweetest voice. He should have been in the movies. I will always miss him and his wonderful sense of humor. Rest In Peace dear Nephew.
