Dorothy Simcox, 92, a resident of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Parkville, MO. She was born December 9, 1927 to Boyd and Mae (Kemner) Raines in Kansas City, MO.
Dorothy is a 1945 graduate of Grain Valley High School. She continued her education receiving her Associates of Arts Degree in 1994 from Metropolitan Community College. Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Simcox on September 25, 1947 in Kansas City, MO. She was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her five children. Dorothy also enjoyed sewing, reading recipes, crafting, watching t.v., playing bingo, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs. She was a 71 year member of the Eastern Star in Blue Springs, Red Hat Society, and was a Camp Fire leader.
Survived by her children, Barbara Adele Heatherly and husband Doug of Fort Myers, FL, Rodney Dale Simcox and wife Mary Grace of Conshocken, PA, Cynthia Michelle Piacenza and her husband Ross of Parkville, MO, Sharon Danielle Simcox and significant other Kathy Kelly, Anne Janean Hollis of Liberty, MO; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Simcox; parents, Boyd and Mae Raines.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Blue Springs Cemetery. Her family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Wexford Place in memory of Dorothy Simcox.
