Donald “Don” Wayne Miller, 67 a Northland resident of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, April 15, 2022 at NorthCare Hospice with his loving family by his side. Don was born October 11, 1954 to Carl S. and Shirley R. (Witham) Miller in Kansas City, MO.
He graduated from Park Hill High School in 1972 and continued his education at Southwest Missouri State University (SMSU) – currently named Missouri State University (MSU). Don spent the majority of his working career as an Office Manager with AT& T.
Don was united in marriage with Connie J. Gardner on May 16, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He enjoyed any outdoor activities that took him close to a lake, a river or a pond. He especially loved to fish and always seemed to be the one in the group to catch the “big lunker.” Don was also an avid fan of the KC Royals, KC Chiefs and NASCAR.
He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin, and a good friend to many. He will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Miller; a son, Cody Arr of Parkville, MO; a daughter, Nikki Cain (Chris) of Kansas City (North), MO; two grandchildren: Tyler Cain (Stacy); Shaye Bushy (Chasidy); 12 great-grandchildren; three siblings: Charles “Butch” Miller (Patty) of Kansas City (North), MO; Andy Miller Kansas City (North), MO; and Diane Haver (Michael) of Sun Lakes, AZ; 5 nephews and a niece. Don was preceded in death by both of his parents
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. The Funeral service will commence at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Parkville, MO. The family requests everyone to wear casual attire. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made in Don’s memory to the Kansas City Police Department Care Team (https://kcpdcareteam.org) and may be left in care of Meyers Funeral Chapel. I am so sorry for your loss. Donnie had been my next door neighbor for a number of years in the 1980’s. We played many games of croquet in our front yard. His smile will be missed.
Don was a wonderful person and a great friend . I will remember him always.
Guys weekend will never be the same. In addition to bringing unbelievably good food Don brought his fun personality. A common phrase Oscar 1 to Oscar 2. That’s on a need to know basis. He would fish sunrise to sunset catching too many fish to count. We will miss you Bro.
Donnie will forever be in the hearts of many, his smile and attitude were infectious . I grew up at the Miller home,many great memories. He was like a little brother.
DONNIE thank you for all the memories. Charlie and Obie, Donnie you are up live on the field . You join many of our good friends that go before. REST IN PEACE, MY FRIEND.

Sad to find that Don’s life here has ended. I’ve not seen him for many years but I’m happy to read about the rich life he had with work, friends, and family. I’m sorry for your loss

Don, Was like a second father for not only me, but all the other children in the neighborhood, who were friends with Cody. He will be missed greatly.

Our friend and neighbor we will miss seeing your friendly smile as you were out working in your yard. A lot of years living next to Steve, Carol and their boys you more than just neighbors. I myself only met Don and Connie 4 yrs ago. But I was welcomed with the same great smile . Rest In Peace dear friend.
