In loving memory of Richard (Dick, Pops) Elliott who passed away on August 12, 2023.
He was a devoted family man who found joys in the simple pleasures of life. His wife, Peggy, was the love of his life and they shared 48 years of love together.
He shared countless memories with his wife Peg, his kids and grandkids and of course the countless friends he had acquired along the way. Whether it be working, traveling, enjoying the woods, building/fixing something, helping a neighbor or sharing an intense card game he was always creating lasting bonds that will be cherished forever.
His love for friendship, golf, fishing, hunting and of course, tinkering with tools was only surpassed by his love for his family. He was an avid fan of “The Ohio State”. You would often see him sporting his Buckeye gear with pride. His adventurous spirit led him to travel and explore many new places with Peg but his heart always returned to Pomme De Terre Lake where he found even more close friends, solace and tranquility.
Dick loved his furry companions as well. He was never without a dog and had up to four at one point. He was blessed to have so many of them as part of his world. His latest Boston Terrier, Penny Marie, brought him tremendous joy and love.
After High School in Ohio, Dick went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Agriculture from Ohio State University. He spent much of his life working in the grain and feed industry. He retired from Bartlett Grain where he was the Operations Manager for over two decades.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his loving Parents and Sister, Sally Foreman. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (Peg) Elliott; his Brother Jim (John) Elliott; Children: Lori Buttke (Chuck), Jack Elliott (Christy), Tracy Welty (Becky); Grandchildren: Kyle (Jaclyn) and Jessica (Kevin) Lynn, Jake (London) Elliott, Tyler (Amani) and Evan Welty and Great Grandson Beckett Elliott. Memories of Dick and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com
