Dr. Cone was born in Marshall, MO to Ralph Clayton and Sushannah Browitt Cone, who have predeceased him. He had one brother, Ralph Dale Cone (Barbara) who also predeceased him.
Dr. Cone was a lifelong Missouri educator, teacher, counselor, superintendent of schools, and higher education professor. He finished his career at the Maple Woods Campus of the Metropolitan Community Colleges of Kansas City. He was the system-wide Director of Teacher Education and was recognized as the Outstanding Instructor in Missouri Higher Education in 2003.
He enjoyed and belonged to many organizations over the years, such as the Missouri Association of Rural Education, Missouri State Teachers’ Association, and Rotary International where he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a charter member of the Northland Investment Club which he enjoyed greatly.
Dr. Cone had a love of music, drama, classic cars and his little fur girls, Trixie, Tootsie, Blanche, and Stella. He was beloved by all who knew him.
