David Ray Dunagan, 59, of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away peacefully on November 9, 2023, at the Liberty Hospital. He was born October 12, 1964 in Joplin, MO to Robert LeRoy, Sr. and Clara Mae (Medley) Dunagan. They preceded him in death.
David was born deaf and attended grade school at the Missouri School for the Deaf. He proudly graduated from Winnetonka High School. As a young man he often talked about working at the cemetery and was always proud of that. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with motorcycles. David was known for his famous deer jerky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert LeRoy “Bobby” Dunagan, Jr. Survived by a brother, Gregg Dunagan of Liberty, MO; four sisters: Vickie Boushell of Illinois, Clara “LeAnn” Sallaz (Mike Meyer) of Tulsa, OK, Myrna Morris of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Amanda Elam of Illinois; and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins; beloved aunt, Gracia Neeley and husband, Mike of Parkville, MO: and beloved uncle, Doyle Dunagan of LaMar, MO.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate David’s life will be from 11:00 a.m. until close, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the American Legion Post 318, 11 Main St., Parkville MO. Memories of David and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com.
