David Franklin Conley, 62, of Blue Springs, MO passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at his home. He was born December 17, 1951 in Paintsville, KY to Winford and Edna Conley. David served in the National Guard for seven years. He had a long and successful career in the wholesale tire industry which began when he was 16 years old working for his Uncle Woodford (Wood) Conley. David was a member of Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kansas City. He enjoyed biking, boating, golfing, and spending time with friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
David is survived by his children; daughters Jennifer Williams and husband Stuart of Murfreesboro, TN, Morgan Parker and Husband Jason of Olathe, KS, Courtney Hawkins and husband Timothy of Raymore, MO; ex-wife, but friend forever, Janet Conley of Blue Springs, MO; sisters, Donna Meador and Husband Marion of Bowling Green, KY, Brenda King and husband James of Hopkinsville, KY, Paula Tucker of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Larkin Williams, Riley and Vivienne Parker; significant other, Tammy Hodges of Grain Valley, MO and her children, Chastity Hodges of Grain Valley, MO and Dustin Hodges of Brighton, CO; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
David was a man with a gentle heart and a contagious smile and laugh. He lived his life with honor and integrity and was well respected by his colleagues, friends and family. A simple man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, David loved to have fun and to be with the ones he loved. He was a good father and a good friend. He had faith in God and believed in the power of prayer. He will be most remembered for the deep love he had for his children, grand children, family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for David will be 10:00 am, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 415 W. 13th Street, Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Alzheimer’s Association in honor of David’s dear friend, Mike Vanderlinden.
