Darren L. Franke, 51, of Grain Valley, Mo passed away January 20, 2020. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday January 25th at Meyers Blue Springs Chapel, with visitation preceding the celebration 9:30 – 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Susan G. Komen For The Cure or Vicki Welsh Fund For Ovarian Cancer.
Darren was a native of the Blue Springs area graduating from Blue Springs High School in 1986. He went on to work for the Central Jackson County Fire District for over 10 years as a firefighter and paramedic, later working in the construction field. He had a passion at a young age for motorcycles, which stayed with him his entire life. Darren was very outgoing, the life of the party, and touched the lives of everyone he knew. He was blessed to have 4 children and most recently his grandson, Henry.
Darren was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ed Lobdell. Survivors include his wife, Vicky Franke, children, Lindsey Franke, Cassidy (Michael) Thomas, Blaze Franke, Eli Franke, mother, Sandy Lobdell, father, Jeff Franke, sister, Christy (Brian) Heublein, grandson, Henry, and 2 nieces, Bailey and Ky.

Darren was such a great guy! He was so funny and always willing to help a friend. He will be missed.

Condolences to the families. I knew Darren from high school. Great guy. I saw him recently at one of our high school reunions . I remember him being very polite and also remember him dancing away at the country music that the DJ was playing. He didn’t miss a step and he had everyone’s attention. It was fun to watch.
He will be missed.

I remember when I first met Darren his wife, him and thier kids moved in down the street from us, pulled out his dirtbike and rode a few wheelies I was like hot damn someone else that loves bikes like me. Such a great and funny guy. God Speed Darren you will be missed by all.
