Daniel G. Bates, 39, of Lees Summit, MO formally of Blue Springs, MO passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Lees Summit. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 Monday December 31, 2012 at St. John LaLande Catholic Church Blue Springs, MO with Father Adam Johnson as the celebrant. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, December 30, 2012 at the Meyers Funeral Chapel 1600 W. Main St. Blue Springs, MO. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Kansas City, MO. Daniel was born October 1, 1973 in LaGrange, IL the son of Bob and Gerri (Tomera) Bates who survive of Blue Springs, MO. He was catholic by faith. Daniel was a 1992 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Independence, MO, received his Bachelors in English Communication from Marquette University in 1996, he went on to receive his Masters in Information Technology from the University of Missouri Kansas City. Daniel was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed High Adventure canoeing and camping in the Boundary waters of the US and Canada. He was an avid deer, turkey and quail hunter who loved his Brittney Spaniel Zimmy. He was loved by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a cousin Jessica Bates.
Other survivors include his brother Aaron Charles Bates and wife Elizabeth of Las Vegas, NV, niece and nephew Sara Anne and Nickolas Aaron Bates of Las Vegas, NV, a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
