Cynthia Zoe Bristol, 74, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at her home. She was born December 2, 1948 to William and Helen (Hornbeak) Baum in St. Louis, MO.
Cynthia attended Missouri State University and worked as a nurse’s aide to get herself through school. She also volunteered for Vista helping under privileged families in the Springfield, MO area. Cynthia later attended Central Missouri State where she received her master’s degree in Speech Pathology. She was united in marriage to Donald Bristol on August 15, 1970 in Springfield, MO. Cynthia worked as a speech pathologist in the Independence School District. She enjoyed traveling with Donald, going to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, and even having a place in the Grand Cayman Islands. They were members of the Midwest MG club which was a group that drove British sports cars to different destinations. Cynthia and Donald also traveled to Sturgis, SD twice by motorcycle and once in a corvette. She always had exotic cat breeds, such as Savanah and Persian. Above all she cherished spending time with her family.
Survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Donald Bristol of Blue Springs, MO; daughter, Devon Strahm and husband Andrew of Kansas City, MO; son, Derek Bristol and wife Crystal of Blue Springs, MO; grandchildren, Sawyer, Emerson, Titus; step-grandson, Jaden; sister, Melissa Bristol and husband Jerry of Houston, TX. Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Melrose; step-father, Thomas Melrose; father, William Baum.
Cynthia will be cremated per her wishes. At this time there will not be any formal services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. Memories of Cynthia and words of comfort for her family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com
