Connie Sue (Tarter) Becker, 63, went to be with the Lord on Monday March 17, 2014 at St. Luke’s East Hospital from medical complications. Connie was born on August 30, 1950 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Connie spent her youth helping her parents run a local business in Missouri. She loved to cook and spend time with her friends.
She married her late husband Terry Tarter in 1975. Throughout their lives together they were avid musicians and began their own band. They toured the US as well as Canada. One summer session they were the main show on a passenger cruise. They shared their love of music with all who knew them.
After Terry’s death in 1994, she became an avid pet lover. She loved her family and took great pride in her grandchildren.
She met Steve Becker in 2001 and they married in the spring of 2011.
She will be missed by all who knew her.
She leaves behind husband Steve Becker of the home, Daughter and Son-in-law Tammy and Bud Tarter of Blue Springs, MO, Son and Daughter-in-law Tony and Autum Benedict of Olathe, KS. Four Step Daughters, Lisa Ann Hayden, Samantha Lynn Becker, Michelle Mullis, and Leigh Ann Richardson. Five grandchildren. Two sisters Janet Lennon of Phoenix, AZ, Debra Perron of Mena, AK, one Brother David Gillihan of Texas, two brother-in-laws Ray Wheeler and Charlie Tarter of Harrisonville, MO, two Sister-in-Laws Anita Wheeler of Harrisonville, MO and Anita Tarter of Norfolk, AK, 14 nieces and nephews, 36 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Terry Tarter, parents Delores Lannan and Alfred Gillihan, Grandparents Daisy and Alonzo Case, Sister-In-Law Mary Tarter, Brother-in-law Gerald “Buddy” Tarter, Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Oleta and Bud Emick.
