Cody is a Christian by faith. In 2019, she was diagnosed with a carcinoid tumor in her right lung, which resulted in the removal of the entire lung. Her faith helped her courageously overcome this rare form of cancer.
Cody is a 2021 graduate from Park Hill South High School. After graduation, she attended Metropolitan Community College (MCC) to continue her education and pursue her dream career of becoming a Veterinarian Tech – caring for large farm animals.
Cody worked part-time while attending school at the iconic Northland restaurant, In-A-Tub.
She will forever be remembered as a beautiful, loving, and devoted daughter, sister and granddaughter.
Cody was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Jay Meyers. She is survived by her mother, Laura “Annie” Bennett; father, Justin Meyers (Carry Smith); four siblings: Chellssie Meyers; Cayleeigh Meyers; and twins, Jake Burlington and Ellie Burlington; maternal grandparents Brad and Jeri Reed; paternal grandmother, Karen Meyers; Uncles: Jake Reed and Matthew Meyers; Great-Aunt Janie Pitcher; boyfriend Jake Freeman and several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville, MO. The Funeral Service celebrating Cody’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 6, 2022 at Meyers Northland Chapel with Lead Pastor Troy McMahon officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Hampton Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to KC Pet Project and may be left in care of the funeral chapel.
