Rest In Peace Clyde Coriell
After a short stint receiving Hospice Care, Clyde Coriell passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022. Clyde could be described in many different ways, by different people. And his impact varied across the years and across places, including his long tenure as a Methodist Minister (including a stint serving as the Methodist Minister at Rainbow Mennonite Church 1444 Southwest Boulevard Kansas City, Kansas).
He had a heart for so many things and people and yet, he was probably the happiest when he stood by water, with a pole in his hand, and a pipe in his mouth.
Let’s join in giving our love to Peggy and their children—Laura, Steve, and Denise—along with many grandchildren and great children.
And let’s join in reciting these words from Psalm 133–a Psalm Clyde often quoted in times of prayer.
Psalm 133
How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head, running down upon the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down over the collar of his robes.
It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion. For there the Lord ordained the blessing, life forevermore.
Rest in that life forevermore, Clyde, where the dew and oil falls freely.
A Visitation and a Celebration of Clyde’s life will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests Memorial contributions be made to Rainbow Mennonite Church 1444 Southwest Blvd. Kansas City, KS 6103. Memories of Clyde and condolences to the family may be shared at meyersfuneralchapel.com
A friend in ministry and a loyal Zeta Chi.
Thoughts and prayers to his family.
We’ve lost a good man, a good pastor. Prayers for all of you.
I remember Clyde when we all served churches in KCK the mid -1960’s. We were involved in civil rights issues and ministries to the poor. Clyde Rest In Peace. Wayne Castle
Clyde was one of the first clergy in KCK we met when we moved there in 1964 to help begin Cross-Lines Cooperative Council and serve the Rosedale Christian Church. What a wonderful companion and trainer as we all learned together to serve the community of many economic, faith, skin, background, etc. variations. Thank you Clyde and family! Thank you God for this life and the interactions! -(Don) & Bobbie Anderson Don passed in Nov. 2020.
Peace amidst the struggle. A fine gentleman and good minister with understanding and caring. Blessings on the family and friends!
We send our sympathy to your family and send prayers to all of you.
We are saddened to hear of Clyde’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences to his family and other friends.
Peggy, Steve, Lizzy and I are so sorry to hear that Clyde passed away. We are at the cabin; I often think about the years we were at Timber Bay. Good memories. Our prayers are with all of you.
Marci and I offer our condolences and prayers for grace and peace to Peggy and family. Clyde was one of the most effective central city pastors of our Methodist tradition.
He was a true gentleman. It was an honor to be his neighbor.
I am thankful for my friendship with Clyde and for the ministries we did together
Peace brother
