Christopher David Moyers, 39, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, in Kansas City, MO. He was born December 21, 1979 in St. Clair, MI to David and Elizabeth (Hoffmann) Moyers.
Chris attended Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, MO and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force Reserves as a fireman. Chris was deployed to Qatar in 2001 and Fairford, England in 2004. He was united in marriage to Doria Serrano on June 3, 2006 in Independence, MO. Christopher was a parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Blue Springs. He was a prankster who enjoyed cars, electronics, and the Lake of the Ozarks, especially the Buck Creek Store. Above all Christopher loved being a husband and a dad, cherishing every moment with his wife and two daughters.
Survived by his wife Doria Moyers of Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Molly and Emily Moyers of Blue Springs, MO; parents, David and Elizabeth Moyers of St. Joseph, MO; siblings, Joni Moyers of Kansas City, MO, Adam Moyers (Bess) of Liberty, MO, Kelly Moyers of New York, NY; nieces and nephews, Addison and Harper Beffa, Kendall Bodnar, Hannah, Josie and Graham Moyers; in-laws, Steve and Diana Serrano of Lee’s Summit, MO; brother-in-law, Stephen Serrano (Sharla) of Independence, MO; Doria’s maternal grandmother, Doria Curtin of Independence, MO. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Joseph Hoffmann; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Joan Moyers; Doria’s maternal grandfather, James Curtin; paternal grandparents, Alfonso and Mary Serrano.
The family will receive friends and family from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 24, 2019 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 S.W. State Route 7, Blue Springs, MO with the Rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2019 at the church. Burial will immediately follow with full military honors at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meyers Funeral Chapel in Blue Springs. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made for a college fund for his daughters, Molly and Emily. So sorry for your loss I did not know Chris personally but my nephew Clif Scroggins thought the world of Him and that’s good enough for me.

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to meet Chris and become friends in college. I watched Chris and Doria meet, fall in love, share their life and bring in two beautiful girls. We will miss you dearly. Love you brother.

Chris is now in the arms of the angels. He will be missed by so many, but most of all his living wife and two beautiful girls. He is free from the bondage of his pain and can now run free.
