Charles Leigh Bockover, 80, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home. He was born June 10, 1937 to Robert and Florence (Ault) Bockover in South Bend, IN.
Charles was a proud Marine veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Vicki Darrow on February 2, 1957 in Elkhart, IN. Charles moved his family to Kansas City in 1975 while working for Arkansas Best Freight (ABF) and retired in 1997 from trucking after 30 years. He was a Shriner, Teamster and member of Local 41.
Survivors include daughters, Sheryl Watson of Blue Springs, MO, Amy Peola of Blue Springs, MO; sons, James Bockover of Blue Springs, MO, John Bockover of Holden, MO; brother, Robert Bockover Jr. of Riverside, CA; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Vicki Bockover; son, Charles L. Bockover II; and his parents, Robert and Florence Bockover.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Meyers Funeral Chapel, 1600 W. Main St. Blue Springs, MO. Burial with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m., at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
