Carolyn Guy-Riley, 83, of Parkville, Mo passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 with her loving daughter, Michele and granddaughter, Brooke at her bedside. Carolyn was born February 9, 1937 to Woodrow and Virginia (Consbrock) Thrasher in Ft. Madison, Iowa.

Both parents and a younger brother, Dave Thrasher also preceded her in death. She is survived by her three children: Michele Stillwell (Jim); Mike Guy (Donna); and Chris Guy (Susan); two stepchildren Chris Riley (Megan) and Karen Riley-Cummings (Ray); 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Michele and Family,

My family gives our condolences.
I only knew her as Brooke’s grandmother, but I also knew she was a sweetheart with a contagious smile and will be missed my many, many people.
Thinking of you guys, always
Michelle, Chris and Mike
I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. She was such a dear fun part of our great neighborhood for so many years. So many summer evenings spent on someone’s driveway laughing and having a good time. Precious memories.
We are so sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. I have many fond memories of Carolyn. As a child I used to love shopping for treasures at her summer garage sales, and I will never forget her huge Great Dane, Daphne. She always smiled and waived to me at lunchtime at Renner, too. To this day I use the artichoke dip recipe that she and Art brought to the annual Rosencrans Fourth of July pool parties. She was a lovely lady, and I feel blessed to have known her.
Oh, I am so sorry I hadn’t called her lately. she was my best friend through high school. then I moved to Sacramento, Calif she came out to live with me in an apartment. that was for about a year. then Denny came back and she went home and they were married shortly after. . I can’t put into words how I feel this morning, such a wonderful friend I have lost.
To all of Carolyn family, our deppest sympathy and prayers for Peace and comfort. Carolyn was so much a part of our Platte Ridge neighborhood when our children were growing up. Our son, Todd spent hours with Chris doing ‘whatever’, much like the older brother he did not have. Carolyn was wonderful, kind, and so much fun to be around. She will be missed.
I am so sorry to hear about Carolyn’s passing. I worked with her for several years and considered her a very good friend. She was always fun to be around and I will truly miss her.
So sorry to hear of Carolyn’s death. I was a high school classmate with her and Denny. Always remember her wonderful smile and sweet disposition. Last saw her at a class reunion.

Carolyn and Denny were both Classmates of the Ames, Iowa High School class of 1955. They were active in reunions. The class extends our sincere sympathy to the Family.
Carolyn was a significant part of my early development. She was one of a few surrogate 79th Terr mothers who unknowingly influenced my life. I remember well her beautifully landscaped yard with lots of flowers. Her love for animals (I remember the beloved Great Dane). I will never forget the way she laughed. It was hardy and she would throw her head back if it was especially funny. Carolyn was a bright spot for me in an already rich childhood environment. I loved seeing her and Art throughout the years around my parents pool at the July 4th gatherings. She holds a special place in my heart.
With love to Carolyn’s family, you have lost a beautiful Mom and Grami. I always remember
Carolyn and Denny in High School and the fun they had together and with the whole gang
of our great class of ’55. I send my wishes to all of you gathering to say good-bye to a very
lovely person and friend.
Carolyn was a lovely lady and holds a special place in my heart. I have fond childhood memories growing up next door to the Guy family. Carolyn was always so friendly, and I always enjoyed chatting with her, often it was across the fence when I had my pet rabbit running around outside. I remember when she introduced me to their new Great Dane, Daphne. My prayers and sympathy are with the Guy family.
