Carol graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1960 and remained an active alumni, planning annual reunions as well as monthly social gatherings. Carol was a pillar of her community – volunteering for various political campaigns, and serving years on her neighborhood Board of Directors.
Carol retired from General Foods / Kraft in 1998, she continued to work for years and ran her own development company until permanently retiring to be with loved ones. She took great pride in the fact that she built and maintained a beautiful home and garden.
As a long time season ticket holder, you could find Carol at church (Arrowhead Stadium) on any given Sunday. Go chiefs! Carol’s true happiness, though, came from spending any possible time with her family. She would describe her three grandchildren as her entire world.
She married John W. Franklin on January 18, 1980 in Miami, OK. Jack preceded her in death on January 17, 2016. In addition to Jack she was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Larry. Survivors include her daughters, grandchildren, and countless other friends and family – Shannon, Allison, Pat, Tracy, Gary, Patty, Alex, Jake, Shelby, Molly, Jo, and Riku.
Family asks that you come as she knew you – please don’t wear a suit or anything she would consider stuffy – we want everyone to be warm and comfortable and she would want that too.
Services will be held at Meyers Funeral Home in Parkville, MO from 2-3pm Monday December 12th, 2022. Family will host further celebrations at Walnut Creek South Homes Association Clubhouse.
