It is with peace and pride, the family of Carl Stuart Huff announce his passing at the age of 95 years on February 10, 2024.
Carl was born on December 30, 1928 in Independence, Missouri where he lived his entire life as a friend to the community.
Carl had a strong work ethic and held several jobs to take care of his family. Carl spent years building homes around Independence, worked with his brother L.A. at his auto repair shop, and ended his career working with the City of Independence as a building inspector.
It was unusual to go anywhere throughout Independence without hearing someone yell “Carl” and be followed up with a handshake and a smile.
Carl has been married to his wife, Wilma Irene (Shubkagel) Huff for 75 years. They raised three children together and worked hard but also enjoyed having fun as a family. They liked taking road trips, visiting family and friends across the country, taking the camper out for weekend camping trips, and lots of card playing. After Carl’s retirement, he and Wilma enjoyed traveling through the Midwest to help build churches.
Carl was extremely proud of his family, son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie Huff and Lynn (Dixon) Huff, son Richard Huff, and daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne (Huff) Andes and Rocky Andes. They are also thankful to have 4 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren!
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Charles C. Huff and N. Mildred (Cody) Huff, as well as his brother L.A. Huff and son, Richard Huff. He is survived by his wife Wilma Huff, his sister Betty (Huff) Sturman and children Johnnie Huff, Jeanne Andes and their families.
