Mr. William “Bill” John Reichen, 80, of Parkville, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Linden Woods Village in Gladstone, MO where he was under hospice care. Bill was born February 28, 1943 to Walter Alfred and Florence Ester (Mandeville) Reichen in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Bill is a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. Returning home, Bill continued his education and earned his master’s degree in business. He spent the majority of his working career as an accountant with Farmland Industries in Kansas City, MO; he later worked as the accountant for Artco Casket Company in the Kansas City metro area until his retirement.
Bill loved his wife and four daughters more than anything else. He always found time to attend all of their school activities, sporting events, graduations, and weddings. Bill enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally, traveling to Europe 7 times. He shared his love of music with his daughters in their younger years introducing them to music groups such as The Beatles, Beach Boys and Chicago and then taking them to actual concerts.
He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, pure orneriness, always being the handyman fixing anything and everything. He was the heart and soul to our family and will be deeply missed.
Bill was proud of his Swiss heritage; learning that his grandmother and grandfather both immigrated to the United States from Switzerland unbeknownst to each other until they met in their new homeland. The Reichen legacy continues into its 6th generation in the United States.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Reichen; four beautiful daughters: Tracie Breeding (Kurt); Niki Hudson (Todd); Brandi Reichen-Jones (Shirley); and Lindsey Guy (Tim); nine grandchildren: Luke Breeding (Laura); Abbey Lindberg (Cameron); Sydney Nelson (Andrew); Raegan Dickerson (Draven); Gracie Hudson; Aidyn Guy; Marlie McNerney; Turner McNerney and Paddy Guy; two great-grandchildren: Frederick Nelson and Rowan Dickerson; a sister Eileen Neely (William). He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Reichen, and Florence Reichen.
Sincerest condolences to each of you and to all who loved Mr. Reichen.
Bill was always smiling. His pure love for Linda, all his beautiful girls & all his grandchildren always shined brightly. He was so very proud of all of them & took care of everyone always.
At first knowing Bill I thought he was a quiet man. I soon discovered he was a rock n roller & could be so funny. His subtle humor always made me laugh.
Bill will be sorely missed but he sure made forever memories for so many.
Rock on Bill!
So sorry for the loss of your Dad Tracie.
Please give our condolences to the rest of your family

Gloria & Charlie Pusateri
My heart and prayers are with all the family. So sorry I will be in Colorado next week and unable to attend the visitation or service. I know Bill will be greatly missed by all family, friends, and classmates. I graduated with Bill and feel like he is a relative since he is related to Eileen Neely who is my cousin by marriage. Her husband and mine are blood cousins.
Tracie, my deepest condolences for your loss. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I lighted a candle for Bill today in church. As I watched the glowing flames, I could see Bill’s smile, with those happy eyes. He was such a pleasant person and a joy be around with. He lived a good life.
We are part family from Switzerland. It is commendable that the Reichen’s took time to connect with their roots. We sure enjoyed seeing them here. We also made visits to St. Jo.
We have fond memories of Bill. Our thoughts are with you, dear family.
Brandi,
Over the years hearing you speak about your father with so much love always reminded me of mine. He had to have been a WONDERFUL MAN.
As I prayed for peace and comfort for you and your family during the eye of this storm, I will continue to pray that our GOD grants you peace and comfort beyond understanding during the aftermath. One thing I know for certain is that your father would want you all to continue loving each other as fiercely as you did while he was here.
My sincere condolences
As a northside youngster my parents, John and Mary Jane Neff, the Robinets and Bills parents Walt and Florence spent many weekends together. Even though our ages were different by five years we knew each other through the aforementioned gatherings. We were both northsideres educated at Lafayette High School. As the years passed we would run across each other occasionally and share memories. Bill was a happy go lucky, kind and caring man. I was saddened to read of his passing as a part of my youth disappeared. Gone but not forgotten.
Our sincere condolences to Linda and family.many good memories at Lafayette High School and alumni basketball tournament.
Bill was a fellow graduate at LHS in 1961. Great guy and always had a smile to share.
The class had a get together here in St Joseph in late Sept, he was missed.
Our condolence to his whole family.
