Beverly “Bev” Lee (Swartz) Nye, 68, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at Saint Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. She was born April 20, 1952 in Kansas City, MO to Jerome and Katie (Coleman) Swartz.
Bev is a graduate of South East High School in Kansas City, MO. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Park University in Parkville, MO. Bev spent manyyears working for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline. She also worked many years in the human resources department at the corporate office of Aldi Grocery Stores. Her last job was with Wagner Industries. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs. Bev enjoyed creating handmade cards for every occasion, traveling and spending time with her fur babies. She was a cherished Aunt to her nephews and nieces. Spending time with her family and friends was very important to her.
She enjoyed all outdoor activities especially camping, hiking, snow skiing and working in her yard. She was a volunteer for Rainbow Center. She was a member of Kiwanis Club where she headed up their Terrific Kids program for 2 years.
Bev’s family wishes to thank her friend and caregiver Mike for the love, support, kindness and special care he gave to her.
Bev’s family also would like to thank Saint Luke’s Hospice House caregivers for all their support and kindness in her final days.
She cannot be replaced in our lives but we will cherish our memories of her and we know that she is at peace now.
Survivors include her brother, Gary Swartz and his wife Sara of Independence, MO; nephews, Justin Swartz and his wife Nicole and their children Hope and Seth of Blue Springs, MO; Nicholas Swartz and his wife Laura and their children Matilda and Jack of Greenwood, MO. Bev is preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Katie Swartz.
Her family will receive friends and family from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 at the First United Methodist Church of Blue Springs, 301 S.W. Wood Chapel Road, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial service celebrating Bev’s life will be begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church. All COVID-19 restrictions will be enforced. Bev was such an easy going person. Always loved being around her and loved our vacations together. Will miss her dearly.

She was a very loving and caring person, always had fun things to talk about. We at Wagner enjoyed her greatly and missed her greatly!
