Bernice T. “Boomie” Yancik Mansell, 86, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Oak Grove Nursing and Rehabilitation, Oak Grove, MO. She was born February 2, 1936 in Independence, MO, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Simcovich) Halastik.
Bernice was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Independence, MO and was a homemaker. Bernice was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing and bowling in her younger years, but mostly she enjoyed spending time and taking care of her family.
Bernice was married to Steve Yancik who preceded her in death in 1995, she later married Frank Mansell in 2002. Survivors include, her husband, Frank Mansell, Blue Springs, MO, her children; Mark Yancik and wife Gail of Blue Springs, MO, Sherri Dorman and husband Tony of Grain Valley, MO, Larry Yancik and wife Tina of Grain Valley, MO, Michael Yancik of Kansas City, MO, 11 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Yancik, her daughter Lana Yancik, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Parish Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m., all on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 4313 MO-7, Blue Springs, MO 64014. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, MO.
