Betty Jean Zwego, 99, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on March 2, 2022 at Wexford Place Memory Support, Kansas City, MO. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Benedict Zwego, her parents, James Weir and Mary Margaret Humble, her sisters, Mary Stephenson and Delores Barone and her brother James Humble. Bruce Herndon
Thomas “Bruce” Herndon, 88, of Lake Tapawingo, MO, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 18, 2020. He was born January 13, 1932 in Blue Springs, MO to John William Herndon and Alla “Marie” (Reynolds) Herndon.
Bruce graduated from Blue Springs High School in 1950, attended college for one year, then entered the Army. After the service, he received a BS in Agriculture from the University of Missouri at Columbia.
He was a workaholic from a young age. His first job was delivering newspapers by bike, then a soda jerk at Lowe’s Drugstore, a waiter at Stephenson’s Restaurant as well as working with his father in the Herndon Trucking Company. [Read more…]
Cecil Albertson
Cecil Lattie Albertson left his Earthly home for his Heavenly home on February 8, 2020 at the age of 94. He passed away peacefully at the Oak Grove Rehab in Oak Grove, MO.
He was born on February 23rd 1925, in Salem, SC to Joseph Lattie Albertson and Deborah Vestine Albertson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Albertson; his son Seab Franklin Helms; his sister, Virginia Inez Whiteside. Cecil served in WWII in the Navy, aboard the USS Albert W. Grant.
Cecil was married to Mary and had 3 children: Seab Franklin Helms (Victoria Helms), Kenneth Robert Albertson (Janice Albertson), and Richard Joseph Albertson (Vickie Albertson). [Read more…]

Randy Thomas McKinley, 75, a resident of Blue Springs, MO passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs, MO. He was born July 9, 1944 in Clinton, MO to Thomas and Margaret (Healey) McKinley.
Randy grew up in Excelsior Springs, MO and North Kansas City, MO. He graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1962. Randy was united in marriage to Brenda Vickers on January 2, 1982 in Independence, MO. He worked for American Can Company for 11 years, General Motors for 11 years, and Metropolitan Community College for 10 years before retiring in 2010. Lyle O’Hara
Lyle Eugene O’Hara, 76, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Lyle was a former Marine and pilot flying both airplanes and helicopters with more than 10,000 accident free flight hours. He was an Aviation Safety Consultant for Amoco Oil and an A&P Mechanic for Rowan Drilling. Lyle also taught aviation maintenance at AIM. One of Lyle’s greatest achievements was receiving the Charles Taylor Award for 50 years of dedicated service in Aviation Safety. He loved gospel music and often sang in the church and played guitar. His hobbies included hunting, reloading, NASCAR, and reading. But most of all, Lyle loved his family and he loved the Lord and attended the Assembly of God Church.
